Depression Treatment in New Smyrna Beach, South Daytona & Deland, FL
Maybe you're still showing up — to work, to your family, to your friends — but underneath it, everything feels heavier than it should. Depression doesn't always look like staying in bed all day. At BFF Clinic, we provide compassionate, personalized depression treatment for children, teens, and adults across New Smyrna Beach, South Daytona, and Deland, Florida — because your mental health deserves the best friendship.

Depression Doesn't Always Look the Way You'd Expect
Some of our patients are managing full-time jobs, raising families, and keeping up appearances while quietly running on empty inside — a pattern often described as high-functioning depression. Others experience atypical depression, where mood can briefly lift in response to something good, making it easy to dismiss or misunderstand what's really going on.
Persistent low mood or emptiness

Loss of interest in things you enjoyed

Our Approach to Depression Care
Evaluation starts with listening. We take a full history of your symptoms and what's already been tried, so treatment is built around you rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Thorough evaluation
Understands your symptoms and rules out overlapping conditions like anxiety, ADHD, or medical factors.
Collaborative care
You're informed and involved in every decision about your treatment.
Therapy referrals
Referrals for talk therapy when it would help alongside medication.
Personalized medication
Follow-up visits every two weeks while medications are introduced or adjusted.
We currently treat individuals age 8 and older — from teens navigating mood changes to adults who've been carrying this quietly for years.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if what I'm feeling is depression or just stress?
It can be hard to tell on your own, especially if you're still managing your day-to-day responsibilities. A psychiatric evaluation can help identify what you're experiencing and what kind of support would help most.
Do you treat both children and adults for depression?
Yes. We currently treat individuals age 8 and older.
Is depression medication management done in-person or virtually?
Our psychiatric appointments are conducted in-person to support the highest quality of care, and we also offer virtual appointment options.
How soon will I be seen after starting medication?
If medication is newly prescribed or adjusted, we schedule follow-up visits every two weeks until your treatment is stabilized.
Which BFF Clinic location should I visit for my depression evaluation?
We see patients at our New Smyrna Beach, South Daytona, and Deland, FL locations. Reach out and we'll help you find the location and appointment time that works best for you.
