OCD Is More Than Being "Particular"

OCD isn't about liking things neat or having quirky habits. It involves genuinely distressing, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) paired with repetitive behaviors or mental rituals (compulsions) done to relieve the anxiety those thoughts cause. It can quietly take up hours of a person's day and make ordinary routines exhausting.

Intrusive, hard-to-shake thoughts

Checking, counting, or arranging rituals

Excessive hand washing or cleaning

Need for symmetry or "just right" order

Frequent reassurance-seeking

Rituals that eat up significant time

Our Approach to OCD Care

OCD evaluation at BFF Clinic starts with listening. We take a full history of your symptoms, how they show up across different areas of your life, and what's already been tried, so treatment is built around you rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Thorough evaluation

Confirms diagnosis and rules out overlapping conditions like anxiety or depression.

Collaborative care

You're informed and involved in every decision about your treatment.

Specialized therapy referrals

Referrals for ERP or CBT, gold-standard behavioral approaches for OCD.

Personalized medication

Follow-up visits every two weeks while medications are introduced or adjusted.

We currently treat individuals age 8 and older — from children just starting to show signs of OCD to adults who've lived with it, often quietly, for years.
